Location: Gold Coast, Qld

Completion Date: December 2013
Neumann Contractors have again been engaged by the Gold Coast City Council to undertake the annual dredging programme for Tallebudgera and Currumbin Creeks for 2012/13. This is part of an ongoing dredging campaign undertaken by the Council to optimise flood mitigation measures and tidal interchange within the creek systems. Neumann’s have been winning the 2 year contracts by tender and have successfully completed the annual dredging campaigns for 14 years.
The material is dredged from the creeks and pumped up to 1.8 kms onto the beaches of Palm Beach and Burleigh Heads for beach nourishment purposes.
Both Tallebudgera and Currumbin creeks are very visible and busy sites which are open to the public at all times. The works require pedestrian access points, temporary road closures whilst laying the dredge pipeline and maintaining user access while discharging the dredged material onto the beach.
