Surfers Paradise Beach Nourishment

As part of the Northern Beach Protection Strategy, Neumann carried out a 1,200,000m3 contract to restore the profile of the Surfers Paradise Beach. Pumping distances for this project ranged from an average of 4km up to a maximum of 6km. Two Neumann dredges were used to carry out the contract and due to the project being in a high density residential area, each item of equipment had specifically designed acoustic treatment, including the construction of purpose built mufflers for the dredges, boosters and associated equipment.
