The steel fabrication of the Veloway Steel Truss Sections is winding down and Neumann Contractors is progressing on to the next stage of the works on the Veloway Truss Bridge. Neumann Contractors crew is currently fitting up the truss sections with the aluminium frames c/w safety perf panels and the balustrading.
The outside cladding consists of aluminium frames of which the SHS materials were sourced from Ullrich Aluminium, a local Gold Coast aluminium supplier.
The fabrication of the aluminium frames was done in Neumann Contractors steel fabrication shop as we recently gained level 3 TMR accreditation for aluminium fabrication.
The aluminium perforated panels were supplied by the Metrix group, who were able to source aluminium sheet materials which enabled Metrix to supply the perforated panels within the tight time frame of the project.
The works involves the fabrication of a 135 metre long bridge structure over Juliette Street and a section of bikeway from Cornwall Street to O'Keefe Street for the V1 Veloway Bikeway Project.
The bridge structure will be fully fabricated in three 45 metre pieces in our Currumbin yard for delivery to Juliette Street, Greenslopes.
The V1, once completed, will run from Brisbane City to the Gateway Motorway off-ramp at Eight Mile Plains. The 17km connection will successfully provide the missing links within existing cycleway network and ensure a safe and dedicated commute for cyclists. TheVeloway will also help promote an active and healthy lifestyle.
