Maroochy Boulevard Interchange
The Maroochy Boulevard Interchange was an extremely diverse project aimed at constructing a new interchange on the Sunshine Motorway to provide direct access between the future Maroochy Boulevard and the Maroochydore CBD.
Neumann Contractors Sunshine Coast Project Team were responsible for $18 million portion of this project which involved the existing bridge being extended by 15 metres and widened from 2 lanes to 5 lanes. An additional Bridge was constructed on the southbound ramp to accommodate the future service road to Mooloolaba/Sugar Road. Further works include flexible pavement on and off ramps, stormwater drainage including RCP and RCBC drainage adjacent to live traffic and a wetland area.
The project was undertaken in soft ground conditions with rock platforms required to provide solid foundations on a large proportion of the site.
This Contract was constructed for the Department of Main Roads and Maroochy Shire Council and completed in October 2007.
